Psychodynamic Therapy
What is psychodynamic therapy?
Psychodynamic psychotherapy is an insight-oriented and depth therapy.
It looks at the origin of symptoms and how early life experiences impacted and shaped present relationships.
In dynamic work, we look for patterns, themes, awareness, and defenses.
The goal is to create a new narrative for your life.
The therapeutic relationship is being utilized to foster a corrective emotional experience.
We slow down to allow clients to get in touch with their core self.
I will encourage you to do the work in your own pace with the assumption that the power for healing is found within.
Additionally, I will look at unresolved conflicts as well as the expression of anger, dreams, symbols, and nonverbal cues in an attempt to help you rearrange your life narrative while discovering new meaning and interpretations.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
What is CBT?
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an active, solution- and evidence-based treatment approach that focuses on the impact our thoughts have on our feelings and behaviors.
CBT encourages clients to challenge their core beliefs, learn to create new meanings, and transform behaviors.
How does CBT work?
There are several evidence-based CBT treatments which have been shown to effectively treat specific disorders like obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, depression, and anxiety.
It is effective in managing symptoms, learning techniques for coping with stressful life situations, improving problem-solving skills, and identifying and managing emotions.
Mindfulness Training
Are worries getting you down?
Do you ruminate about the past or constantly worry about the future?
Do your emotions often cause stress and confusion?
Do you have a hard time just “letting go?”
Mindfulness training may be for you.
Mindfulness can help you develop the skills necessary to be fully present, have a greater sense of self, and improve life satisfaction.
You will learn to…
…slow down and pay attention to your surroundings (external and internal), appreciate the “little things” that often get overlooked or ignored, develop mastery in tuning into your own sensations and internal resources to help you find inner strength and improve emotion regulation.
Deep breathing, imagery, movement, and creative expressions will be used to help you BE you.
Mindfulness is a way of living.
Every step will deepen your sense of self, meaning, and connection.
